Miretti Group's technology incorporates the very latest research and development. The company boasts impressive experience in providing Ex protection for material handling, oilfield and coal-mining equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Working in dangerous environments requires machinery that can meet the highest safety standards. Accidents have often been catastrophic; diesel engines, working in potentially flammable atmospheres, can put workers at serious risk. For this reason, Miretti's Ex conversions have been designed and implemented with the most advanced technology to help simplify equipment maintenance, thereby reducing intervention.
The company works closely with all leading global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). All explosion-proof conversions are developed to maintain safety levels and ergonomics in conformity with local standards. Miretti's conversions do not affect the operation or warranty of the engine or OEM unit. All its conversions are tested and certified according to ATEX 2014/34/EU, IECEx, CNEx and NEC.
Highest-quality, IP-protected, innovative and fully certified systems are guaranteed for all types of oilfield equipment. Complete project builds, including Ex testing and third-party certification, are available through Miretti factories in the US, Europe and Asia. Special attention has been paid to optimising new developments for installation and 'uptime'.
Miretti Zone 2 (ATEX) kits, which are extremely maintenance-friendly, include several key systems:
Miretti's patented FilterEX system enables Zone 2 diesel engine equipment to operate for up to 1,000 hours before the exhaust flame traps need to be checked. This can have a dramatic impact on the cost of operating equipment due to the increased interval between flame trap service requirements. Designed to limit exhaust gas temperatures to below ATEX requirements, Miretti FilterEx is available for all types of engines.
Miretti CoatEx, which has independent third-party certification, provides a thermal barrier between hot engine surfaces and the external atmosphere, enabling industrial engines to be used within hazardous areas while meeting ATEX specifications.
Also a specialist in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum and gas industries, as well as in mines and tunnels, Miretti provides explosion-proof protection for forklift trucks, earthmoving machines and various types of vehicle. Its range includes sophisticated lighting systems, electricity substations, data transmission and gas detection/control systems.
"The reliability of Miretti's customised solutions comes from experience acquired over the years," says managing director Angelo Miretti. "We operate globally to guarantee the widest possible cover of intervention."
Miretti annually protects more than 1,000 units. Founded in 1973, it has manufacturing facilities in Italy, North America and China, and commercial branches in Europe, Australia, Singapore and the Middle East.
